NFDI4Biodiversity Season's Greetings 2024

Dear members, friends, and supporters of the NFDI4Biodiversity community,
A special year is coming to an end: Together, the network’s partners have shaped the project’s
renewal proposal – an effort that not only resulted in an impressive work programme for five
more years but also demonstrated the dedication and ideas you all bring to fill our mission with life.
Again, a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved!

Let us also express our thanks to everyone who drives the current work programme of the network
forward with their enthusiasm day by day – whether as a staff member, a collaborator, or
an interested supporter. From the very beginning, the biodiversity data community has been at the
heart of our project, and we are thankful for your continued commitment and strong interest.

We won’t even attempt to cover all the achievements of the past year here, as it is
impossible to do them all justice. Instead, we would like to leave you with the invitation to visit
the ever growing website where you can find numerous news articles<https://www.nfdi4biodiversity.org/en/news/> and reports on the project’s
recent activities and accomplishments.

One of them is the just finished report on our three DNA metabarcoding use cases<https://www.nfdi4biodiversity.org/en/what-we-do/use-cases-metabarcoding/>, which we
provide with a solution to simplify the identification of biodiversity in environmental samples.
Also, many other projects with the biodiversity data community<https://www.nfdi4biodiversity.org/en/what-we-do/use-cases-overview/> are nearing completion and
sharing their valuable results.

Finally, let’s make your Christmas movie lineup a bit more diverse by recommending our new
NFDI4Biodiversity short film<https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=shared&v=bLMwtkwqeM8>. In just six minutes, it explains what biodiversity data actually is –
and why it is so crucial for the preservation of nature.
